Kurt Chapman received his BS in Physical Therapy from the University of Wisconsin La Crosse in 1997 and opened Sport and Spine Clinic of Fort Atkinson in 2000. Kurt is an active member of the Wisconsin Physical Therapy Association (WPTA), American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), and National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). In addition to being a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, he is currently pursuing his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Des Moines University. Kurt’s professional interests include fitness/wellness programming and sports medicine (running, baseball and golf).

Jolyn Baldry graduated from the University of Minnesota with an undergraduate degree in Kinesiology; followed by a Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy from the Mayo School of Health Sciences. She joined the Sport & Spine team in Fort Atkinson in spring, 2003 and enjoys professional interests of pediatrics, post-partum exercise/fitness, as well as neuro and orthopedic injuries.


Rocky Baldry has been a member of the Sport & Spine team since June 2004. While attending Montana State University in Bozeman, Rocky earned his BS in Exercise Science. He went on to earn his Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy from the Mayo School of Health Sciences in Rochester, MN. He has since completed continuing education courses in the treatment of orthopedic shoulder dysfunction, functional sports rehabilitation, and evaluation and treatment of lumbo-sacral disorders. Rocky is an active member of the WPTA as well as the APTA. He has a number of professional interests including sports medicine, vestibular rehabilitation, and functional rehabilitation for return to sport/work.

David Deppeler PT, OCS, FAAOMPT received his physical therapy degree from the University of Wisconsin- Madison in 1989. He is a certified orthopedic specialist and a certified manual therapist. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists, faculty and board member of the North American Institute of Orthopaedic Manual Therapy (NAIOMT).

Haliana Doeppers PT, certMDT received her bachelors degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1994. In 1998, she became a certified McKenzie practitioner and has been an active member in the McKenzie Institute. This is a practice method focused on mechanical diagnosis and treatment of spinal conditions. She was a practicing Physical Therapist for more than a decade in Seattle and Chicago before returning to Madison last year. Hali’s clinical interests include neck and low back pain management and work injury rehabilitation. Her skills include manual therapy, ergonomic assessment, functional job analysis, post offer employment testing and functional capacity evaluations.

Anne Farrar is a graduate of the Mayo School of Health Sciences Master’s program in Physical Therapy. She pursued a career in Physical Therapy after earning her bachelor degree in Mathematics from the University of Wisconsin at Madison. She has been on staff with Sport and Spine Clinic since June 2005.

David Nissenbaum received his Bachelor's Degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Athletic Training from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1994. He obtained his Masters in Sports Administration from the University of Northern Colorado in 1995. He then returned to Madison to obtain a Masters in Physical Therapy from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1999. David has practiced in the Madison area for 5 years. David's professional interests include sports medicine, manual therapy, posture, prevention of injuries and functional rehabilitation. David is an active member of several professional organizations including APTA, NATA, WPTA, WATA.


Peter Rahn received his Bachelor's Degree in Human Biology in 2001 and Master of Physical Therapy Degree from Marquette University in 2003. He is a Certified Ergonomic Specialist and has taken continuing education courses in manual therapy and functional exercise. He has practiced in Wisconsin, Illinois, and Washington. His primary interest is orthopedics and focuses on maximizing function to improve quality of life for patients at every age level.


William Rein, MPT, CEAS received his bachelors degree in Kinesiology/Exercise Science from the University of Wisconsin in 2003. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin Physical Therapy program in December 2005 with a Masters in Physical Therapy. Bill is an active member in professional organizations such as the APTA. His clinical interests include treatment of low back pain and shoulder injuries. Bill is certified as an Ergonomic Assessment Specialist with a special interest in worksite evaluation and modification. He also is seeking specialization in Manual Therapy techniques.

Shelli Rigby, PT received her Bachelors of Science degree in Kinesiology/Exercise Science in 1995 from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She traveled to Northern Ireland to obtain her Bachelors degree in Physiotherapy in 1998. She practiced in Dublin, Ireland for 3 years before returning to Wisconsin. She has been working in the Madison area for the past 4 years. Shelli’s clinical interests include lumbar stabilization, custom orthotics, manual therapy and women’s health. Shelli is an active member of the APTA and women’s health section of the APTA. Shelli will be directing the women’s health and orthotics program for Sport and Spine.

John Rugotzke received a B.S. in Kinesiology from the University of Minnesota in 2004. He is a 2008 graduate of the Mayo Clinic School of Health Science's Doctoral Program in Physical Therapy. His clinical interests include orthopaedics and working with athletes.

Joseph Steingraeber, DPT received his Bachelor’s of Arts in biology from St. John’s University in Collegeville, MN in 2002. He graduated with his Doctorate of Physical Therapy in June of 2007 from the University of Minnesota. A new resident to the Madison area (and long time Badger and Packer fan), he is excited to begin his PT career with Sport and Spine clinic. Joe’s clinical interests include knee and shoulder impairments as well as sports related injuries. His professional interests include manual therapy, sports medicine and strength and conditioning. He is an active member of the APTA and looks forward to becoming more involved in the local state chapter.
